I am delighted that something I have worked on for many years now is finally bearing fruit ... I am a founding Director of the IIT Bombay Heritage Fund and the webmaster of http://www.iitbombay.org. I recently helped organize a Distinguished Alumni Summit 2000 Rye, NY, and a similar event was held in Silicon Valley as well, to continue to build on the Chicago Summit Meeting in 1999 which was attended by a number of our most illustrious alumni. We continue to work toward a "Tryst with Excellence" for IIT Bombay. At a press conference in Mumbai on December 7, 2000, the result of the work we have been doing was finally announced - VISION 2008 ..."this unparalled initiative has emerged primarily due to the efforts of  the IIT Bombay Heritage Fund (IITBHF)". We have been receiving a lot of press coverage both in the US and in India now as many of our alumni have become CEOs and Presidents of household names such as Citibank and Rohm & Haas, and the IIT brand name has indeed become one of the preeminent names amongst the top engineering schools in the world.
